Snow dust
scatters on the asphalt,
cars, sheds, trees, lamp posts
and settles in a seamless
white awning – a sail
it signposts the landscape
to the coming spring.

'Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be...Close your eyes let your spirit start to soar, and you'll live as you've never lived before.' (Erich Fromm)

nice, though when I read "it signposts", it seem a bit awkward but that's just me, I don't think I ever used the word "signposts" before, it seems it read like a noun rather than a verb
a signpost pointing on beyond itself.....
a beautifully painted moment! :)

enchanting poem..
I cannot get enough of your writing. This is beautiful in all its simplicity.
It painted an exquisite picture for me. Oh are you enjoying all that snow? I cannot believe it hasn't snowed in London for 18 years or so.
Hi Catherine, I'm presenting you with the Lemonade Award for all your amazing poems and stories(go to my site for the award and then you can pass it along...if you want).
THANK YOU everyone for all your kind comments!
@Lilly: Yes, enjoying the snow. Schools are getting lots of ‘snow days’ at the moment. Yesterday, I had a lovely walk in a local park covered in crunchy snow. Beautiful!
@Grace: Thank you so much for the Lemonade Award. I feel honoured especially as it’s my second Lemonade nomination. Truly appreciated. I will pop in and pick it up at some point.
@Patronus & Lilly J: WELCOME to my blog space and thank you for joining up as 'blogging comrades'!
I really like the way the first two lines lead into the poem. You don't expect what you get, it's like a present wrapped in newspaper.
I deleted my last comment because I read it over and it looked like an insult! But I promise you it wasn't.
@Athelas: No worries... I’m glad you stopped by and left a comment. Thank you!
vivid imagery..I can see it. :)
@Elle: Thanks for popping by and commenting!
Perfect Cath, the white of snow leads us into such a colourful Spring as if Mother Nature has drawn the curtain to paint her masterpiece :) Cheryl
Beautiful! Thank you.
No need for all the fluff, you've managed to say everything without, so the readers have clear images within their minds. Well done, you.
